Adult Services Librarian (part-time)

Do you enjoy providing exceptional customer service? Do you enjoy answering both reference and reader’s advisory questions? The Glencoe Public Library has an opening for a part-time librarian in our busy Adult Services Department.

This part-time position is responsible for a variety of functions and should be familiar with library technology as well as traditional library functions including but not limited to research, readers’ advisory, collection development, one-on-one assistance, and technology troubleshooting. An interest in collection development and programming for young adults is a plus. The opportunity to work on various library projects will also be available. This position is 19 hours per week on average and includes Saturdays/Sundays in rotation (approximately every 3rd weekend). Ideal hours, in addition to the weekend rotation, are:

Mondays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Tuesdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Wednesdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Interested individuals must submit a resume and three professional references to Dale Heath, Head of Adult Services at dheath@glencoelibrary.org. Recent MLS grads are encouraged to apply. MLS degree or recognized equivalent required. This position is open until filled.

This is a non-exempt position.
