The End is Coming!!!

Believe it or not, our winter reading club is coming to an end! Be sure to record your six books by March 1st and pick up a wonderful prize. Thanks to everybody for participating...we hope you had as much fun as we had!



New Excerpts Available Online

Are you anxious to see all of the new and exciting programs that the library has to offer over the next three months? You'll soon be receiving the new issue of the library newsletter Excerpts in the mail, but in the meantime you can take a look at Excerpts online. Programs on the 1959 White Sox, the Burnham Plan, From Page to Stage programs and some green events for the kids are among the highlights



Lexis Nexis Now Available

Many of you are familiar with the name LexisNexis from your the library offers LexisNexis as well! Our new LexisNexis Library Express database enables you to search legal filings as well as business information from sources like Standard and Poor's and Hoover's, magazines and newspapers such as the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Daily Herald and Washington Post (legal sources are only accessible from within the library).

Digitization Initiative in the Pioneer Press

Check out this week's Glencoe News to read all about the library's local history digitization project. In anticipation of our 100th anniversary we decided to launch a project to make local Glencoe history available to the world through the internet. Kindle at the Library

Perhaps you have seen the news about the new version of Amazon's Kindle e-book reader, released this week. Are you curious to learn what the hubbub is all about? Would you like to see with your very own eyes what it is like to read a book on an e-book reader? Stop by the library to take a look at our Amazon Kindle.



Valentine's Day Card Shop

On Saturday, February 7 bring the kids (3 years and up) in for a Valentine's Day card shop. They'll supply the imagination and creativity and we'll supply the materials! Drop in anytime between 11am and 2pm. NEW this year...make-your-own-puzzle cards!
